Best Practices for DreamTeam Huddle | 150

During the month of August we hosted a CreekHelp Academy on leading huddles. In this ProTip we hope to remind you of some of the key takeaways!

SO WHY DO WE HUDDLE?

A huddle is a quick meeting that brings clarity to the team so that we all are moving toward the same goals, in the same direction and everyone knows the role they play to help the team get there.

Huddle is just one component of how we communicate to the DreamTeam. It’s a weekly check-in that allows us to communicate to our DreamTeam before they serve. So while we know huddle isn’t the space to communicate everything, serving without huddling is also not a best practice for the DreamTeam. Today, we’re going to bring clarity to why we huddle and how we can communicate effectively within each huddle.

4 OBJECTIVES OF DREAM TEAM HUDDLE

  1. CAST VISION – CLARIFYING WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
  2. CONNECT VALUES – CLARIFYING HOW WE DO WHAT WE DO
  3. CELEBRATE WINS – CLARIFYING WHERE WE ARE WINNING AT WHAT WE DO
  4. COMMUNICATE STRATEGY – CLARIFYING WHAT WE ARE DOING TODAY

BOTTOM LINE: We Huddle at CedarCreek to CAST VISION, CONNECT VALUES, CELEBRATE WINS, AND COMMUNICATE STRATEGY to our Dream Team

CASTING VISION – Vision reminds the DreamTeam WHY making a difference matters.

  • Goal: Help every DreamTeam member become a carrier of vision.
  • Action Step: Keep sharing the vision to the point that you are tired of talking about it then share it again.
  • Evaluation Question: Can the DreamTeam share the vision back to me and with others?

CONNECTING VALUES – Values drive behavior and this helps our DreamTeam know HOW we make a difference.

  • GOAL: Reinforce the value with our DreamTeam and celebrate them being lived out.
  • Action Step: Highlight one of our DreamTeam that has lived out our values while serving others.
  • Evaluation Question: Does the DreamTeam have clarity on our values?

CELEBRATE WINS – Celebration reinforces WHERE God is moving in our church.

  • GOAL: Help people feel like what they do matters and highlight where we are winning.
  • Action Step: Share a number and/or life change story that helps us know people are taking steps on the life changing adventure.
  • Evaluation Question: Does the DreamTeam know where we are winning?

COMMUNICATE STRATEGY – Strategy keeps us focused on WHAT we are doing today to move our mission forward.

  • GOAL: Help each team member know their role and how it impacts the overall church strategies.
  • Action Step: Clearly articulate what strategies we are pushing to help people Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference.
  • Evaluation Question: Does the DreamTeam know what their role is this weekend to help people take a next step on the life changing adventure?
