If you are a someone who builds out small groups for your campus (next steps, kids or students) you may have noticed that there is a required option to select your [Group Type].
Have you wondered why this is needed or what the different group types are?
Group Types allow our database to to keep different ‘types’ of groups categorized together. We can build the database to allow these group types to operate or function differently if needed.
When building your small group, you want to make sure you select the correct group type. Note: Once a group is built, the group type can not be changed.
It is important to know that each searchable public directory can only host 1 group type.
Here are a list group types that you may have the option of selecting from:
- Serving Team: This group type is used for all groups built under the [DreamTeam] section in rock. Because groups of this type sync with Planning Center, only a Rock Administrator can build out these groups. These groups do not appear on any public directory.
- Serve Day Group: This group type is used for all groups built under the [Serve Day Section] in rock. These groups are built for any Second Saturday groups or any summer Serve Day groups. These groups can be searched on our public director found here: https://rock.cedarcreek.tv/page/559
- Small Group: Groups built of this type are typically your adult small groups. This group type can be built under the [Small Group Section] in rock. These groups can be searched on our public directory found here: https://rock.cedarcreek.tv/page/236
- Small Group – Checkin: Groups built of this type are groups that need to utilize our checkin kiosks located at our physical buildings to take attendance. (think Celebrate Recovery) This group type can be built under the [Small Group Section] in rock. These groups do not appear on any public directory.
- Pre Marriage Mentoring: This group type is used for all groups part of our PreMarriage Mentoring program. This group type can be built under the [Small Group Section] in rock. These groups do not appear on any public directory.
- Kids Small Groups: Groups built of this type are typically small groups designed specifically by our Kids team. This group type can be built under the [Small Group Section] in rock. These groups can be searched on our public directory found here: https://rock.cedarcreek.tv/page/972
- Student Small Groups – Checkin: Groups built of this type are typically small groups designed specifically by our Students team. Groups built of this type are groups that can also utilize our checkin kiosks located at our physical buildings to take attendance.
