Recently we asked Habitec to secure doors in our Kids ministry that are not often passed through. This will help keep our kids safe and our DreamTeam aware if anyone passes through these often unused doors.
2 Types of Security:
- Habitec will arm the door so that an alarm will sound if the door is opened during service times without a fob.
- A battery powered alarm will arm the door and can be armed or disarmed with a key.
Important Details to Note:
- We will not be able to arm heavy traffic doors. There isn’t a practical way to arm the door and re-direct guests. In addition, some of those doors are so close to the auditorium that it would disrupt service. Those unarmed doors (not all campuses have them) will need to be given a watchful eye by the Safety Team.
- Doors that are used occasionally, or never, will have battery powered alarms with a key to arm and disarm. I recommend the Safety Team ensure these doors are armed before the weekend when they do their sweep through CedarVille.

– Student Ministries door: The campus has requested this stay locked. We are able to lock this door while adding a Habitec pad to the outside of the door in the CedarVille area. This will prevent kids from getting out but will allow staff to move through the door as needed.
– Downstairs elementary door: Habitec pad at the top of the stairs outside the door with a siren outside the vestibule downstairs. There is currently a panic bar on the outside door.
