Capturing for the Summer:
Summer is just around the corner and (like myself) I bet you can’t wait! From vacations, concerts, and even the small little trips to the beach, the summer season is probably THE most popular season where people wanna use their phones to capture these moments! Maybe you’re not like me and you don’t know what to look for when taking simple pictures on your phone. This pro-tip is here to give you a few pointers on getting the most out of your camera phone.
1. Focusing
- Make sure you tell your camera what the subject is! What do I mean by that? Focusing! Focusing is key to any photo. This allows the camera to lock in on the subject you want to shoot to produce an image highlighting whatyou want to Be sure to tap the subject on screen before you take your photo!
2. Portrait Mode
- You know that blurry background thing you see people use on their cell phone photos? That’s called Portrait Mode! Most cell phones have this feature so if you don’t have an iPhone, it could be called something different (be sure to google that, haha). In the photography world, we call that blurry background in portrait mode “Bokeh” (pronounced BOH-kay). Bokeh helps the subject standout from the background. Use this to create nice, and close professional looking photos!
3. Good Photo Composition
- Take advantage of the camera grid by utilizing The Rule of Thirds! This is a great tool to use when composing your photo. Sometimes your subject doesn’t have to be in the very middle when you take a photo! Line up the specificsubject where the grid lines intersect to create a visual interesting photo. Be sure to go to your camera settings and turn on the grid to help utilize this
4. Get Creative
- These tools aren’t meant to put you and your imagination in a box, so its super important to be creative when youtake photos! And the best part is that you can see your photos well before you capture
You can even edit the color of photo by using different filters to create the photos that you want right at the tip of your hands!
