If you are visiting this page, you have probably volunteered to help Chat Moderate in one of our Online Platforms during our weekend service. Thank you! 😊

What you do every week makes a difference in introducing people to Jesus and the Life Changing Adventure with Him!

The scheduling system we use for weekend services is called Planning Center Online. Please click here to learn a little more about it: Planning Center Online (PCO)

You can also download the PCO App “Services” HERE

Here are some general best practices to abide by:

  • The best time to show up is 15 minutes before the service. People can cultivate chat before and during the service.
  • Please stay around 10 minutes after service is over in case people have more questions or prayer requests.
  • Knowing / communicating with the other host beforehand is helpful. Find out who your co-host is via Planning Center prior to service. (Think 24 hours in advance to set yourselves up for success.) It is recommended hosts connect together on chat and put together a game plan.
    1. Dividing up the roles ahead of time helps avoid awkward moments of double posting.
    2. Who will post message slides and bottom lines? Who will post links?
    3. Who will take prayer request? Who will welcome people and answer questions?
    4. There is a separate chat for hosts that can be utilized on ICampus.
    5. On Facebook you can communicate privately via FB Message or text message.
  • In order to best serve our guests, moderators repost key quotes and verses. On the stream sometimes, the screen is not in the camera view long enough so reposting them helps content sink in.
  • Each week you will receive an e-mail with important information about the order of service and some of the links, slides and message notes that will be used during service but please be ready to add links as needed. Sometimes slides and notes will be slightly modified as well so a good idea is to copy and paste all the service info and have it on a Word document or something similar to adjust and modify as needed.
  • Open up Chat with questions:

    a. Where are you watching from?
    b. What campus do you normally attend?
    c. Who wins the award for the furthest away watching?

  • (See: https://creekhelp.com/guest-services/) We have links ready to click on our ‘LinkTree’ which can be found here: https://linktr.ee/cedarcreektv (Note: LinkTree is subject to change as we replace with current links that help us easily promote different campaigns via social.) Hosts are highly encouraged to promote virtual connect card at https://rock.cedarcreek.tv/page/634 and the ‘I Made a Decision’ on the app and via text (text ‘Decided’ to 419-419-0707.)
  • Comment a lot!

-Tag people and say hi when they enter

    -Like people’s comments

-Have questions ready as people come on “what campus do you attend?

  • Your job is to be positive, welcoming, and redirecting… not defensive – If someone comes in slamming CedarCreek your reply is to be “sorry you feel that way… have you tried… it sounds like you’re frustrated with that…” just like every person wants the person listening to reply when they are venting, this often isn’t about “fixing it”. Comments made against the church are not to be taken personally or you will get defensive and maybe even emotional. Keep things factual, helpful, informative, and welcoming. There is a good community here that should back you up nicely!
  • What do you do with people that ask for donations or personal help?

If people ask for financial assistance or another kind of help, let them know that all of our benevolence requests are handled in person at our local campuses. If they are persistent in asking for financial help, please remove their comments and direct message them, letting them know that we do not allow soliciting in the chat.

  • What do you do is someone mentions they are suicidal or have suicidal thoughts?

We should encourage the person to call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline “1-800-273-8255” or head to their website: https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
