Communication Handbook

When creating a link that you want to track specific hits, use a UTM link. If you had one link but were using the link in different places and wanted to track who to track which platform drove the most users, you can use a UTM link.

Example: cedarcreek.tv/events/easter

This example will direct all users from all platforms to our Easter event page.

If you want to know who went to the page from a billboard, or from a mailer... or from radio... you can use separate UTM links per source.

  • Source: Example - mailer
  • Medium: Example - community

If I use the examples above, I know that someone went to our Easter page from our Community Mailer. The link after built would look something like: https://www.cedarcreek.tv/events/easter?utm_source=mailer&utm_medium=community
