Sardius Asset Managment

When managing an asset in Sardius, there are a number of things to be aware of. In this article we are going to go over a few of those details.

After you have clicked on an asset, you will see a number of tabs.

• Overview
• Metadata
• Media
• Images
• Files
• Stats
• History

On the Overview Tab

• Share – This will create an external share link you can use to share outside of Sardius
• Create Thumbnail – This will allow you to create a new thumbnail for the video. Click this option to select where in the video you would like to set the thumbnail.
• Clip – Use this to clip the video into a shorter length.
• Approved – This is required if you want the video to be visible in any Sardius Native player. This is not needed if you use an M3U8 link to the video.
• Publish – Use this option if you need to publish the video into a different format. There are 3 main formats we used:
  • MP3 – Audio
  • Mp4 – Video
  • HLS – M3U8
• Update – after you make any changes, be sure to click Update

On the Metadata Tab

• Title – The public name of the video. We have a couple standards
  • Series Overview: Name of Series | Overview
    • EX: Grinchmas | Overview
  • Weekend Service: Name of Series | Week #
    • EX: Power to Change | Week 1
  • Promo/Recap Videos: Name of Event Recap (or Promo) | Year
  • Kids Ministry Videos: Name of Ministry | Week # (Dates)
    • EX: Preschool | Week 1 (Feb 3/4)
    • EX: Elementary | Week 2 (Feb 10/11)
  • Podcast: Name of Series (week #) LIO
    • EX: Power to Change (week 2) LIO
  • 21 Days of Prayer: Day ## | Bottom Line
    • EX: Day 18 | To Receive Power
  • Choose your Own Adventure #a/b – Name of Segment
    • 5h – Take a Doll_Hunter
    • The 5 represents the 5 choice in the adventure
    • The h represent ‘Hunter’ a character in the adventure
  • Dollar Club: Name of Outreach | Dollar Club
    • EX: Water for Ishmael | Dollar Club
  • Family Faith Plan: Faith Plan #-#
    • Age – Age | Faith Plan -OR- Grade – Grade | Faith Plan
    • Birth-One | Faith Plan -OR- Fifth – Sixth | Faith Plan
  • Music: Name of Song
  • Update From Ben: mm-dd-yy Update from Ben
    • EX: 11-2-23 Update from Ben
• Description – This description will be publicly available below or beside the  video when the guest is watching the video.
• Air Date – The date the video initially played.
  • Note: This is also the date that the video is sorted by when in a list of other videos.
• Available Date – The date the video will be publicly available.
• Expiration Date – The date the video will no longer be publicly available.
• Categories – Every video should be sorted into a category. The category drives where the video is pre-loaded or displayed.
• Series – This is specific to our weekend services.
• Tags – Not currently used
• Topics – Not currently used
• Album – Not currently used
• Actors – Not currently used
• Announcers – Not currently used
• Artists – Not currently used
• Attendees – Not currently used
• Bios – Not currently used
• Guests – Not currently used
• Hosts – Not currently used
• Performers – Not currently used
• Speakers – This should be the name of the weekend speaker
• Specials – Not currently used
• Worship Leaders – Not currently used
• Update – after you make any changes, be sure to click Update

Media

• This is the list of published media links you have created. Remember the M3U8 link is the link you would need for any Rock Content Channesl – Video URL

Images

• Here you can update/upload/delete any thumbnail images.

Files

• Here you can attach a file to a video. This is only available when using the Sardius Media Players.

Stats

• This is a page that displays all sorts of statistics on our videos hosted in Sardius.
